Roughly 170 trees have been removed from various areas on the course where the shade had severely impacting the health of the greens. Additionally, the logging contractor was asked to "limb-up" some of the trees around fairway no.1 and will soon be addressing few dangerously leaning pines elsewhere on the course. The cost of this tree management effort could reach $40,000 and is expected to take another three weeks to complete.

The club staff identified the trees which should be removed with the help of certified course superintendent and long-time consultant, George Thompson.

The club will be adopting a long range plan to effectively manage tree growth and maintain a good balance between environmental stewardship and the needs of the golf. More on this plan in a future update.

Many trees on fairway No. 1 were "limbed-up" for safety.

In excess of 20 trees were taken out of this area alone.

Many wood lines are overtaken by invasive vines and trees.
The contractor will be clearing some, but not all areas this year.

The clearing of trees around the bathhouse on 13 was needed but left an undesirable view. We are working on a plan to beautify this area and to restore its natural look once the tree removal is complete..

Roughly 15 trees were removed from behind no. 8

Tree shade is now limited to the bunker area around 8

The bunker to the east of  no. 3 green will be restored to its original grade once the few tree are removed from its surrounds

Dangerously leaning and weak, these trees between fairways 7 and 8 will be removed in the next two weeks.
